...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Washington...
Yakima River at Umtanum affecting Kittitas County.
Yakima River near Parker affecting Yakima County.
Yakima River at Horlick affecting Kittitas County.
...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Washington...
Naches River near Cliffdell affecting Yakima County.
Naches River near Naches affecting Yakima County.
.Heavy rain continues in the Washington Cascades through Thursday
morning. Rises along area rivers and streams will persist for the
next couple of days, potentially through the weekend.
For the Yakima River...including Horlick, Umtanum, Parker, Kiona...
Moderate flooding is forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHERE...Yakima River at Umtanum.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 38.0 feet, At this level, flooding of roads and
pastures in the vicinity of the river will occur. The Ellensburg
water supply pumphouse is threatened.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 12:15 PM PST Wednesday the stage was 35.3 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 33.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this
afternoon to 37.3 feet late this evening. It will then fall
below flood stage early Friday morning to 32.3 feet Monday
afternoon. It will rise to 33.3 feet Wednesday, December 17.
It will then fall to 33.2 feet Wednesday, December 17. It
will then rise again but remain below flood stage.

- Bankfull stage is 9.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:30 AM PST Wednesday was 11.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to 13.1 feet late tonight. It
will then fall below flood stage Friday evening to 7.1 feet
Monday afternoon. It will rise to 8.6 feet Wednesday,
December 17. It will then fall to 8.1 feet Thursday, December

along the river from Cliffdell downstream through Naches to the
north end of Yakima. There will be significant flooding in
pastures and orchards.
