Issued by NWS Pendleton, OR
026 FNUS56 KPDT 092131 FWFPDT Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington National Weather Service Pendleton OR 231 PM PDT Thu Oct 9 2025 .DISCUSSION... Dry weather through early Friday will give way to increasing rain chances later Friday (30-50 percent) mainly in western portions of the area and then 30 to 60 percent everywhere on Saturday and 40 to 70 percent everywhere on Sunday. Winds will also increase later Friday trough Sunday as a front moves across the region, especially through the Cascade gaps and Columbia Basin. Breezy to locally windy conditions are expected in these locations. With the increase in moisture, MIN RH values will generally be above 40 percent in most areas. ***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages*** ***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater*** ***Ventilation Index is derived from the transport wind multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of feet. Index categories are a generalized indicator and users are encourage to develop criteria that are suitable and representative of dispersion conditions in their local area of interest.*** Note: Max transport winds may not occur at the same time as max mixing height.
