Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
228 PM PDT Tue Sep 15 2026

.DISCUSSION...Limited concerns, except for low thunder chances
on Thursday in the eastern mountains. A brief window of light
rain tonight across the Cascades spilling into central OR before
dry conditions prevail tomorrow. Wetting rain highly likely in the
eastern mountains Thursday and overnight, including a risk of
isolated storms with infrequent lightning (20-30%). Warming and
drying trend persisting late this week through the weekend.

***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages ***
***CWR: Chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater ***
***Ventilation Index is derived from transport wind
multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of ft.
Categories are a generalized indicator and users
are encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.
   Categories: low (< 200), moderate (200-500),
   high (500-700), and very high (> 700).
-Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height. ***
