157 FNUS56 KPDT 082148 FWFPDT Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington National Weather Service Pendleton OR 248 PM PDT Wed Oct 8 2025 .DISCUSSION... This evening, light and variable, terrain driven winds are anticipated, with an increase in rain shower chances after sunset and through the overnight along the Cascade caps and eastern slopes. Winds increases through the Columbia gorge to breezy conditions on Friday while becoming more windy Saturday and Saturday night across a broader area of the Basin and central Oregon. Precipitation chances increase through the weekend, with minor snow accumulations (1 to 2 inches) across the higher mountain reaches, however widespread wetting rains are not likely. ***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages*** ***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater*** ***Ventilation Index is derived from the transport wind multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of feet. Index categories are a generalized indicator and users are encourage to develop criteria that are suitable and representative of dispersion conditions in their local area of interest.*** Note: Max transport winds may not occur at the same time as max mixing height.
