Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
256 PM PDT Mon Jul 14 2025

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR
WA690 AND WA691 FOR WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...

.DISCUSSION...Hot, dry, and windy conditions are expected once
again today as an upper-level weather system clips the region to
the northeast through early Tuesday. No rain or thunderstorms are
expected, however winds combined with recent heat are expected to
make for critical fire weather conditions, especially for the
Washington Columbia Basin and the Kittitas Valley. Winds will
gradually shift more north and east heading into Tuesday, before a
more benign (albeit still hot) pattern settles in for the rest of
the week.

***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100`s of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
