...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL GRANT COUNTY THROUGH 500
PM PDT...

At 421 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles south of Canyon City, or 10 miles south of John Day, moving
north at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Canyon City.

This includes Highway 395 between mile markers 2 and 14.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
