.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 1245 AM MST Sat Nov 29 2025

We should be dry today for the most, although we could see a
few flurries or sprinkles here and there. A few initial showers
will push into the central mountains closer to sunset, rapidly
increasing this evening. The track of the low comes right across
eastern Idaho, which is very similar to the forecast track over
the past couple of days. This will put the bulk of the moisture
tomorrow across portions of the central mountains, Magic
Valley, the South Hills/Albion Mountains and southeast
highlands. We will see light snow across the Arco Desert, over
through Idaho Falls and into the Big Holes and Teton Valley.
Travel impacts should be limited, although impacts may be a bit
higher for passes across the Albion Mountains and southeast
highlands. Where we see higher snow amounts, look for 2-5" in
the mountains. The rest of the area could see a couple of inches
of snow at best. Right now areas north and east of US 93 and
north of ID 33 could little if any snow at all based on current
trends. We are not anticipating any headlines for snow and
travel, but it certainly could make for a slower trek back home
for the end of the holiday period. Things will quickly wind down
tomorrow night. Highs above 40 will be hard to find this
weekend, with maybe a few spots today across the Magic Valley
and closer to the Utah border may hit that mark. For Sunday, we
might hit 40 where we don`t much in the way of clouds and snow
across the far upper end of the Snake Plain.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 150 PM MST Fri Nov 28 2025

A break is expected with a weak transitory ridge late Sunday
into Monday, then the next upper trough drops through the region
Tuesday. Another round of snowfall is expected mainly Tuesday
focused over the highlands between I-15 and the WY border.
NBM deterministic low temperatures remain at the high end of
the ensemble spread, indicating potential for colder overnight
lows, especially Monday to Wednesday mornings. For the latter
half of the week, the ensemble clusters in general hold on to
unsettled northwest flow over East Idaho, but there are
differences in the details that could impact if or how much
precipitation falls during the Wednesday through Friday time
frame. NBM mean holds on to periods of very light snows mainly
over higher elevations throughout the time period, with
deterministic daytime highs slowly working upward to around 40
degrees.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SUNDAY/...
Issued at 1039 PM MST Fri Nov 28 2025

All TAF terminals are trending back to VFR conditions with lighter
winds behind the cold front as forecast, except for KBYI where
confidence has increased slightly in a period of IFR cigs through
about 11z/4am when winds shift from west to northeast. High-level
clouds will gradually increase Saturday ahead of the next
approaching quick storm system, but any clouds below 9,000-12,000
feet or showers should hold off until after midnight Saturday
night, potentially affecting KBYI and KSUN first thereafter.
