...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY
WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...
...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY UNTIL 6 PM MDT MONDAY...
.DISCUSSION...Look for isolated showers this evening with a very
small chance (less than 5 percent) of thunder. Winds should
remain elevated from the southwest overnight with little to no
diurnal winds setting up due to a system moving into the area.
Rain chances increase by Saturday afternoon with a 30 percent
chance of a wetting rain. Expect isolated thunderstorms Saturday
afternoon. Look for gusty winds from the southwest to continue
Saturday afternoon. Gusty and erratic winds from thunderstorms
are possible Saturday afternoon.
Rain chances increase even more by Saturday evening with a 80
percent chance of a wetting rain. Winds will change and should
become become light overall Saturday evening. Winds should drop
off and come from the northeast overnight Saturday but there is
uncertainty with the wind direction and speed currently for
Saturday evening.
Expect 100 percent chance of a wetting rain by early Sunday
morning. Expect 1 to 1.5 inches of rain Saturday through Monday
with a very wet system moving through the area with remnants of
Hurricane Rachel with this system. The heavier rain will start
Sunday morning and continue through Sunday afternoon into Sunday
evening. Expect continued showers on Monday as well. However,
Sunday looks to be when the majority of the precipitation will
fall. There could be light snow very high up on Monday morning
with cooler temperatures expected Monday and, especially, by
Tuesday.
