013 FXZS60 NSTU 260121 AFDPPG Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pago Pago AS 221 PM SST Fri Sep 25 2026 .Short term... TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT...High pressure to the far southwest will slowly build breezy to strong trades across the islands on the weekend. Nearby trough to the south will hold numerous showers over the islands through the weekend. RAOB from this afternoon depicts a saturated low level profile. Expect numerous showers to remain over the islands through the weekend. Trades will increase to strong flow on Saturday before strengthening to near gale on Sunday and Sunday night. .Long term... MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...The aforementioned trough will shift southeast on Monday. Remnants and moisture from the trough will move west and northwest. Showers will decrease to scattered through the rest of the new week. However, breezy trades will persist over the islands as the another high pressure from the southwest moves south of the islands. && .Marine... Rough seas of 7 to 9 feet will persist tonight as breezy trades and south swells remains over the islands. Seas are expected to elevate 8 to 10 feet on Saturday night as trades build to strong flow. As trades continue to strengthen to near gale, seas will further build 10 to 13 feet on Sunday and Sunday night. As the high pressure shifts southeast, winds will slightly diminish to strong flow on Monday and seas will also subside 8 to 10 feet.
