Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Pago Pago AS
210 PM SST Sat Oct 11 2025

.Short term...
TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT...Satellite shows an active trough up
north of the islands with embedded thunderstorms. High pressure
to the far southeast of the islands continues to migrate east
southeast. However, a low level convergence is slowly developing
across the Samoan islands. This convergence will potentially bring
heavy rain and thunderstorms across the islands late tonight
through Sunday night. Stable conditions will once again move
across the islands on Monday. Breezy trades will persist tonight
before diminishing to gentle flow on Sunday. As the trough up
north retreats away from the islands, trades will again increase
to breezy flow on Monday.

.Long term...
TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...Stable conditions and breezy trades will
persist through Wednesday. As the high pressure migrates south,
the trough up north will descend near the islands on Wednesday
night. This will increase showers to numerous before becoming
widespread on Thursday and remains through the weekend. Showers
will increase on the latter part of the new week while winds will
diminish to gentle flow.

&&

.Marine...
Rough seas of 8 to 10 feet will slightly subside 7 to 9 feet
tonight. These conditions will persist through Wednesday of the
new week.
