Tropical Weather Discussion for the Western North Pacific between
the Equator and 25N from 130E to 180. The following information is
based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar,
and meteorological analysis.

...SPECIAL FEATURES...

None.

...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS...

TUTT...
A Tropical Upper-Tropospheric Trough (TUTT) enters the AOR near
25N180 and extends southwest to 21N168E then extends west to an
upper low northeast of the Marianas near 21N148E, then southwest to
end near Yap at around 8N136E. Spotty showers and thunderstorms
extend from Yap to south of Guam.

CONVERGING TRADEWINDS...
Tradewind convergence is producing spotty showers from Pohnpei
through Kosrae ending near Majuro.

TRADE-WIND TROUGHS...
A trade-wind trough approaching Yap is producing scattered showers
and isolated thunderstorms.

A weak trade-wind trough east of the Marianas is producing spotty
showers.

TROUGH...
A trough extending from Tropical Storm Ewiniar extends southwest
from 25N137E to 20N130E. This is producing rainshowers along the
trough and widespread cloudiness to the southeast.

...DISCUSSION...
The TUTT is expected to drift near the Mariana Islands and Yap
bringing increased showers for Guam, and increased showers and
isolated thunderstorms for Yap today.

Convective activity associated with the tradewind convergence is
expected to increase through tonight bringing increasing showers
for Pohnpei, and another tradewind convergence is expected to
develop near Majuro and Kwajalein on Friday.

Trade wind trough near Yap is expected to push west and and bring
spotty showers for Yap and Koror today. Trade-wind trough east of
the Marianas is expected to bring a slight increase in showers to
the region through tonight.

As Tropical Storm Ewiniar continues to track northeast the trough
trailing behind is expected to shift north and continue to produce
showers.
