Majuro-
252 PM ChST Thu Dec 4 2025

...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO A COASTAL FLOOD
ADVISORY THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Moderate coastal flooding.

* WHERE...North and east facing shorelines of Majuro.

* WHEN...Through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated
  road closures expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tide predictions show increasing wave run up
  across Majuro through the rest of the week due a combination of the
  lunar cycle and a north swell from a distant weather system.
  Moderate coastal flooding is expected through at least Saturday
  afternoon. High tides will still be elevated into early next week,
  and wave models show another pulse of northerly swell generated by
  a system pushing off of Japan, and the northeast swell staying
  elevated. This may extend the potential for coastal inundation into
  next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Kosrae-Pohnpei-
252 PM ChST Thu Dec 4 2025

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CHST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 7 to 10 feet.

* WHERE...North and east facing reefs of Kosrae. North facing
  reefs of Pohnpei.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM ChST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
  localized beach erosion.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A long period northerly swell emanating
  from a distant weather system combined with a large northeast
  trade swell continue to produce hazardous surf conditions for
  Pohnpei and Kosrae. Surf conditions look to remain hazardous
  through at least Friday afternoon. Model guidance suggest the
  north swell will subside slightly and then rebuild as another
  pulse is generated by a system near Japan, with the primary
  northeast swell still elevated. This may extend the high surf
  advisory into the weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.
