...VERY HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS ACROSS BIKINI ATOLL AND THE
FAR NORTHERN MARSHALL ISLANDS THROUGH TONIGHT...

Conditions have generally tapered down across Majuro from yesterdays
wind and rain event. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms
will bring some locally heavy showers through tonight. Further north,
a tropical disturbance has produced robust convection across Bikini
Atoll and the far northern Marshall Islands today. This morning`s
scatterometer shows that gusts could be approaching 40 to 45 knots in
the heaviest showers and thunderstorms. Some of this heavy weather
has made it as far south of Kwajalein today. Over the next couple of
days, model guidance shows a westward shift of the tropical
disturbance with a slow weakening trend. Scattered showers will
remain possible across the RMI this week with a monsoon-like pattern
remaining in place.

Seas could approach 9 to 12 feet where the strongest winds and
heaviest showers occur. This would make conditions hazardous to
Small Craft across the far northern RMI with extreme choppiness.
Boaters moving through the Marshall Islands north of Kwajalein
should practice enhanced caution over the next day or so.
