...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH
LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to 9
  feet. For the Coastal Flood Statement, isolated minor coastal
  flooding up to 1 foot.

* WHERE...North facing reefs of Yap.

* WHEN...From 5 AM Saturday to 5 AM ChST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Some water on low lying roads and property. Dangerous
    swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A building north swell combined with a
  northeast trade swell will produce hazardous surf along north
  facing reefs. The surf combined with above normal King Tides will
  produce minor coastal flooding during high tide along north facing
  reefs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to
dangerous surf conditions.

SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Minor coastal flooding 1 to 2 feet.

* WHERE...North and east facing reefs of Chuuk.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated
  road closures expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A long-period north swell combined with above
  normal King Tides will produce moderate coastal flooding during
  high tide into the weekend. If the north swell remains longer than
  expected, flooding could continue into Sunday. High tides will
  begin to decrease Sunday afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Watch for debris along low-lying shorelines facing north and
east. Residents living along these low-lying shorelines need to
monitor water levels and take actions to protect property from
inundation.
