Typhoon Warning for Agrihan, Pagan, and Alamagan is cancelled.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides information and recommended actions
for people on Agrihan, Pagan, and Alamagan in the Commonwealth of
the Northern Marianas.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
Effective 2 PM ChST, the Typhoon Warning for Agrihan, Pagan, and
Alamagan is cancelled. Typhoon conditions with winds of 74 mph or
greater, and tropical storm conditions with winds of 39 mph or
greater are no longer expected.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 100 PM CHST, 300 UTC, the center of Typhoon Choi-wan was located
near Latitude 22.5 degrees North and Longitude 147.1 degrees East, or
about 275 miles north-northeast of Agrihan, 315 miles north of
Pagan, and 345 miles north of Alamagan. Choi-wan is moving
north-northeast at 16 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn
toward the north with little change in forward speed through Monday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to 125 mph. Choi-wan is
forecast to intensify through Monday, possibly becoming a Category 4
tonight.

Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to
90 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the
center up to 355 miles to the southeast and up to 275 miles
elsewhere.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
The Typhoon Warning has been cancelled. Typhoon Choi-wan has
continued to move away from the Marianas and the tropical storm force
winds have shifted north of Agrihan, Pagan, and Alamagan. Choi-wan
is forecast to exit the region late tonight or Monday morning.

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Residents should stay aware of the latest weather conditions and
hazards by following local officials.

This will be the last local statement issued by the National Weather
Service, Tiyan.

PAGAN...

.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Damaging winds are no longer expected, however, gusty winds will
continue as the monsoon surge remains over the region.

.WIND INFORMATION...
Near-gale westerly winds of 30 to 35 mph will continue tonight
across the far northern Marianas. Winds look to slowly decrease this
week as the monsoon remains over the region. Winds will continue to
fall during the latter half of the week.

.COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION...
Hazardous surf of 8 to 12 feet along north, south, and west facing
reefs are expected to gradually diminish tonight as Typhoon Choi-wan
moves farther away from the northern islands. Additional coastal
erosion and some coastal inundation remain possible as Choi-wan moves
away.

.OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to
continue into tonight, producing additional rainfall totals of 1 to 2
inches by early Monday morning.
