Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
241 AM MST Mon Jun 30 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Very hot conditions will persist through Tuesday as lower desert
high temperatures are expected to exceed 110 degrees. MinRH values
today are expected to range between 5-15% before increasing 15-25%
across the eastern districts on Tuesday as moisture increases and
remaining below 15% across the western districts. With the
moisture increase, better thunderstorm coverage is expected across
the higher terrain areas Tuesday afternoon/evening with strong
gusty winds as well as the potential for dry lightning. The
overall winds for today will continue to exhibit the familiar
diurnal tendencies with some afternoon upslope gustiness. Heading
into this evening through the overnight period, stronger easterly
winds associated with the increasing moisture will likely develop
with potential gusts occasionally reaching 30 mph across the far
eastern districts. Outside of the thunderstorm winds, generally
lighter winds are expected on Tuesday.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
