Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
107 AM MST Sat Aug 22 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Above normal temperatures continue into next week. MinRH values
will be around 12-20% today and increase to around 15-25%
tomorrow with overnight recovery of 30-60%. Scattered
thunderstorms are expected across the higher terrain areas this
weekend with only slight chances for isolated showers and storms
across the south- central AZ lower deserts. Outside of
thunderstorm outflow winds, winds will follow the typical diurnal
tendencies with some modest afternoon upslope gustiness.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
