of the forecast period.

- Daily afternoon and early evening storms across the higher terrain
through the period.

- Few if any storms plains through early next week, then pops
  chances increase thereafter.

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/...

It will be HOT over the plains both today and tomorrow. Reading will
be in the 100s over a good part of the plains both days, with the
hottest weather tomorrow. Readings will push near 110F tomorrow
in the Lamar region.

The record high for tomorrow at Pueblo could be tied or broken
(record is 103, fcst is for 104). At COS tomorrow the record is 97
and the fcst is for 97). For Alamosa the record is 91 and the
fcst is 90.

For the higher terrain, there will be a good chance of showers and
storms along the continental divide both this afternoon and
tomorrow afternoon. Over the remainder of the mtns scattered
storms will be possible both days, with isolated storms San Luis
Valley. Any heavy showers over the burn scars will have the
potential to cause flash flooding

If any rain occurs over the lower elevations will be in likely
adjacent to the higher terrain in El Paso and Las Animas county.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...

Hot weather will continue Monday, although it may be a degree or two
cooler across the plains. Readings of 104 to 108 will be likely from
Pueblo to the KS border along the US50 corridor.

Showers and storms will continue in the higher terrain Monday
with the best chances along the CONTDVD. With flow becoming a
bit more westerly aloft, there will be a better chance for some
evening storms over the plains.

For Tuesday onward, temperatures will cool down a few degrees over
the plains with mainly 90s across the plains (although the
Lamar area will continue to be around 100). Showers and
thunderstorms will continue over the mountains, and we will see
a bit better chance .of storms over the plains, especially on
Tuesday, as a weak boundary may push through on this day.

FR conditions are anticipated during the next 24 hours at all
3 taf sites, KPUB, KALS and KCOS. Winds will be diurnally
