.Discussion...
No critical fire weather conditions are expected over the next 7
days.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will track across the district
this afternoon and evening, and periods of moderate to heavy
rainfall are possible, which could pose flash flooding issues for
area burn scars and other vulnerable areas. Activity will finally
diminish across the eastern plains late tonight. Dry and much warmer
conditions are forecast for both Saturday and Sunday as high
pressure builds in, then the chance for precipitation returns
starting early Monday morning and persisting through midweek as
another Pacific system approaches, and taps into remnant moisture
from Hurricane Polo. Cooler temperatures are anticipated from
Tuesday onward.
Surface-based inversions will break Saturday morning between 1000
and 1100, with ventilation rates improving to Fair to Good across
much of the district by 1200 and lasting through 1800. Improved
smoke dispersion trends are forecast for Sunday.
