.Discussion...
Widespread heavy rainfall remains forecast from Tuesday through
Thursday across much of the region, as remnants of an tropical
system merge with an eastern Pacific system moving across southern
Colorado. Widespread rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches, with
locally higher amounts remain possible. The greatest accumulations
are expected over and near the southeast mountains and into the
far southeast plains. A flash flood watch is in effect for most of
south central and southeast Colorado Tuesday morning through
Thursday morning. In addition, several inches of snow accumulation
could fall on the highest peaks, mainly above twelve thousand
feet through Thursday. Warmer and drier conditions are forecast
from Friday into early next week, as upper level ridging builds
back across the Rockies.
Afternoon smoke dispersion will be generally poor areawide
tomorrow and again on Wednesday.
