.Discussion...
No critical fire weather conditions are expected over the next 7
days. Widespread heavy rainfall will remain across the district
through late Thursday. Flash flooding concerns remain prominent over
the burn scars, along with areas near the steeper terrain, places
with saturated soils, and low-lying urban areas.
Widespread rainfall totals between 1 and 3 inches are anticipated
across most of the eastern plains. Heaviest rainfall will occur
south of Highway 50, and along the southeast mountains. Other
locally heavy rainfall totals are expected over the rest of the
mountains as well, with several inches of snow expected above 12
thousand feet.
A Flood Watch remains in effect for portions of SE Colorado, lasting
through midday on Thursday.
Warmer and drier conditions will move back into the region on
Friday, lasting into this weekend and early next week.
Smoke dispersions will be poor over most of the region today,
improving to fair to good rates on Thursday.
