.Discussion...
One more hot day expected across the district on Thursday, then
moisture will begin to increase out west, with isolated to scattered
afternoon and evening thunderstorms across the mountains. Showers
and thunderstorms will become likely for Friday through Sunday as
an impulse of monsoon moisture spreads in from the south. Locally
heavy rainfall will be possible with some of the isolated stronger
storms over the mountains. Otherwise, a cool down is expected behind
a cold front on Friday across the plains. Temperatures will warm
and thunderstorm chances will decrease early next week.
Afternoon smoke ventilation rates will rise into the very good to
excellent range for Thursday but will lower into the fair to good
category on Friday behind the cold front.
