.Discussion...
Widespread snow is likely over all of the district today. The
least amount of precipitation will occur over the far eastern
plains with the heaviest precipitation occurring over the
Sangre De Cristo mountains. The snow will end from north to
south during the evening hours. Although widespread snow is
expected, winds are not expected to be all that strong.
Northwest flow at mid levels will prevail during this entire
forecast period. Several disturbances will move southeast in
this flow, and this will bring periods of snow showers to
mainly the central mountains.
Overall, temperatures will slowly increase during the next
7 days.
At this time, meteorological conditions for extreme fire
behavior are not anticipated during this forecast period.
Smoke dispersion is expected to be poor both this afternoon
and tomorrow afternoon across all of the district.
