.Discussion...
Incoming Pacific moisture will move into the mountains, starting
today and lasting into this weekend. Showers and thunderstorms will
be persistent, with heavy rain across the Continental Divide,
particularly the San Juan Mountains and surrounding areas. Models
indicate that portions of the eastern San Juans could see between 2
and 3 inches of rain prior to Sunday. As such, flooding potential
will increase through the next several days. Most precipitation
should remain liquid rain, with snow levels over 13,500 feet. Other
areas across the higher terrain will see an inch of rain or less,
though locally higher amounts will still be possible. Warmer than
average temperatures will also persist for a few more days, before
cooling off late this weekend. Moving into next week, another
warming trend sets in, with daily chances for showers and
thunderstorms lingering over the mountains.
Afternoon smoke dispersions will be fair to good over most of the
plains Today and Friday, with pockets of good or better dispersion
rates. Dispersion will remain mostly poor both days over the
mountains.
