Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
240 PM MDT Thu Jun 20 2024

.Discussion...

Showers and thunderstorms will be likely today through Friday
night across the mountains with heavy rainfall and localized
flash flooding possible beneath stronger cells. The greatest
rainfall amounts through the period will fall across the
eastern San Juan mountains where up to 2.5 inches of rain could
occur along the southwest facing slopes. The remainder of the
mountains could see anywhere from 0.25 to up to an inch over
the 2 day period though locally higher amounts will be possible.
The plains will remain largely dry.

Thunderstorms will become more isolated as temperatures become
hotter this weekend through early next week. Localized gusty winds
will be the primary concerns with thunderstorms. Another uptick
in thunderstorms may come in the middle to latter part of next week.

After poor dispersions tonight, most areas will rise into the very
good to excellent category on Friday. Dispersions will rise into
the good to very good range for Saturday due to lighter winds.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
