Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
314 AM MDT Sat Jun 22 2024

.Discussion...

Critical fire weather is not expected for the next 7 days, thanks
mostly to increased humidity values today and tomorrow and weak wind
patterns through the rest of the extended forecast.

A warming and drying trend begins today, which will lead to less
thunderstorm coverage, and overall less meaningful rainfall out of
any storms that develop today and tomorrow as well. Temperatures
look to continue to warm as we head into the beginning of next
week, with very hot and dry conditions expected for Monday,
Tuesday, and possibly Wednesday depending on timing of our next
weather system. The good news is that winds look to remain too
weak to warrant any fire weather headlines as we head into next
week. Another uptick in thunderstorm coverage look possible for
the second half of next week.

Afternoon smoke dispersions will vary greatly across the district
today, with generally good or better for the plains and fair or
better for most of the high country. Please see below for specific
zone forecasts. For tomorrow, rates improve for most zones.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
