.Discussion...
Critical fire weather conditions are not expected through the next
seven days. Generally dry and mild northwest flow aloft will persist
through the weekend into next week, with temperatures well above
seasonal averages most days. The warmest day of the next several
will likely be Thursday, with the coolest readings expected
Friday as a weak cold front moves through the region. Winds will
be breezy at times, especially during the day Thursday, as gap
flows will be gusty through the Arkansas Valley and near/downstream
of La Veta Pass.
Afternoon smoke dispersion will stay fair to poor at many locations
on Thursday, with some pockets of good possible over windier east
mountain slopes. On Friday, most locations will stay poor, as mixing
heights fall and transport winds weaken.
