from 10 AM until 6 PM Today...
.Discussion...
Strong west winds and low relative humidity will be likely today
over much of the area, with the most critical conditions over the
southern I-25 corridor and across the southeast plains from Trinidad
eastward to the Kansas border, where a Red Flag Warning is in effect.
A few snow showers will be possible over the central mountains this
afternoon and evening, though any snow amounts will be very light.
A series of weather disturbances will bring a roller coaster of
temperatures to the district Thursday into Saturday, with a return
of near critical fire weather conditions along the southern I-25
corridor and portions of the southeast plains on Friday.
Colder conditions are then expected from Sunday into early next
week, with chances for snow increasing as well, especially over
the mountains.
Afternoon smoke dispersion will reach good or better levels across the
entire district today, then fall back into the fair to good range on
Thursday as transport winds weaken.
