.Discussion...
Critical fire weather conditions are not expected through the rest
of this week, though drier conditions are likely by this weekend.
Risks for heavy rain and flooding remain in place for the San Juans
today, where our Flash Flood Watch has been extended through
midnight tonight. Today will be warmer than yesterday, with highs
back into the 60s for mountain valleys, and back into the 70s for
our plains. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely over the
high country, with isolated showers and thunderstorms possible over
the plains. Breezy south winds will remain likely as well, mainly
over our eastern plains.
Tomorrow will be the warmest day of the period, with highs back into
the 80s on our plains. Chances for showers and thunderstorms
continue over the area, some of which may be strong to severe.
Stronger storms may be possible again on Thursday, mainly over our
far eastern plains. A pattern change arrives Friday into this
weekend, ushering in cooler and drier weather.
Afternoon smoke dispersions will be generally good or better for
most zones today, and very good tomorrow. The main exception will be
the southwest mountains, where poor to fair rates are likely both
days.
