.DISCUSSION...

Increasing southwest flow aloft will bring in a healthy surge of
monsoon moisture across western Colorado, with the focus today and
tomorrow along the Continental Divide which directly affects the
Willow Fire area. Showers are expected across the area as early as
1000 this morning, with thunderstorms developing by midday.
Shower and storm activity will likely persist through the day and
finally diminish late tonight near midnight. The fire area will
need to be monitored closely today for any slow-moving storms, as
these will increase the potential for flash flooding. Other storm
threats will be lightning, and wind gusts up to 50 mph.

Sunday will be very similar with respect to shower and storm
activity and coverage, though temperatures are forecast to be 2-4
degrees cooler.
