At 446 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Security-Widefield, or 10 miles southeast of Colorado Springs, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, penny size hail and heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Southeastern Colorado Springs, Fountain, Schriever Space Force Base, Security, Security-Widefield, Fort Carson, and Hanover. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
