Synopsis for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Recently named Tropical Depression Five-E is near
11.2N 92.6W at 8 PM PDT, and is moving northwest at 6 kt. Maximum
sustained winds are 30 kt with gusts to 40 kt, and the minimum
central pressure is 1007 mb. Tropical Depression Five-E will
strengthen to a tropical storm near 11.8N 93.3W Tue morning with
maximum sustained winds 35 kt gusts 45 kt, move to 12.5N 94.2W
Tue evening, and continue to strengthen as it moves to near 13.3N
95.2W Wed morning with maximum sustained winds 55 kt gusts 65
kt, strengthen to a hurricane near 14.2N 96.3W Wed evening with
maximum sustained winds 70 kt gusts 85 kt, move to just offshore
the coast of southern Mexico near 15.5N 97.4W Thu morning, then
weaken to a tropical storm as it moves inland southern Mexico Thu
evening with maximum sustained winds 50 kt gusts 60 kt.
Elsewhere, high pressure well northwest of the area will support
pulsing moderate to fresh northwest to north winds across the
Baja California Norte offshore waters through the rest of the
week. Rough northwest to north swell will build over the Baja
waters through the rest of the week. The swell will be reinforced
by a new set of northwest to north starting Fri. Moderate to
fresh southerly winds will prevail across the Gulf of California
through Tue, with strong speeds in the northern Gulf through this
afternoon. Winds will be mainly moderate or weaker elsewhere
through the week.
