Offshore Waters Forecast for the E Pacific within 250 nm of
Central America, Colombia, and within 750 nm of Ecuador

.SYNOPSIS...Newly named Tropical Storm Erick is near 11.9N 93.6W,
or about 390 nm southeast of Punta Maldonado, Mexico at 2 AM
PDT, and is moving west-northwest at 10 kt. Maximum sustained
winds are 35 kt with gusts to 45 kt, and the minimum central
pressure is 1005 mb. Erick will move to near 12.5N 94.4W this
afternoon, to near 13.2N 95.3W late tonight with maximum
sustained winds 55 kt gusts 65 kt, strengthen to a hurricane
near 14.0N 96.4W Wed afternoon with maximum sustained winds 65 kt
gusts 80 kt, and continue to strenghten as it moves to near
15.3N 97.6W late Wed night and well inland southern Mexico Thu
afternoon, eventually weakening to a tropical depression storm
late Fri night. Elsewhere, moderate to fresh winds will remain
offshore Ecuador to the Galapagos Islands through the next few
days. Winds will be moderate or weaker offshore Colombia
northward, except pulse to mostly fresh speeds in the Papagayo
region starting Thu morning. Meanwhile, moderate seas off Ecuador
will prevails through the rest of the week. Moderate seas will
be mainly offshore Colombia northward through Wed, except higher
near Tropical Storm Erick, subsiding afterward.
