  Monday afternoon given the continued dry NW flow pattern.

As of 1245 AM Sunday...

KEY MESSAGE 1... Overall dry weather through the upcoming week, with
some continued signals for increased shower chances next weekend.

The early season Nor`easter presently offshore of the Mid-Atlantic
states will continue to move northwest into New Jersey over the next
12-36 hours. It will linger into the early part of this upcoming
week, which will keep the NW flow going across NC. This will
continue to favor seasonable temperatures the next few days. Highs
today and Monday should be around 80. Lows tonight will be in the
upper 40s and 50s. It will also keep the cloudiness to a minimum as
the mid level moisture will evaporate as it spreads south from VA
into NC.

After the low pressure exits the NE coast mid-week, upper ridging
will build from the Plains east into the SE states. This will keep
dry subsidence all week with temperatures rising to above normal
levels during the daytime Wed-Sat. Highs should reach the mid 80s
with even a few spots likely near 90 in the Sandhills.

Finally, a mid/upper trough is expected to develop over the Plains
late this week into the weekend. This will bring a better chance of
showers to our region by sometime next weekend as the trough
approaches and the mean flow becomes S-SW.

As of 650 AM Sunday...

VFR conditions will prevail for the 24 hour TAF period. Only some
scattered mid/high level clouds are expected to continue moving
through the region as they wrap around the Nor`easter located off
the northeast coast. Otherwise, gusty northwesterly winds are
expected this afternoon, around 16-20 kts.

Outlook: Dry, VFR conditions look to prevail through at least
Thursday.
