151 FXUS65 KREV 160804 AFDREV Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Reno NV 104 AM PDT Thu Oct 16 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... * A warming trend with drier conditions expected into the upcoming weekend. * Another chance for valley rain and mountain snow may arrive by Sunday into the start of next week. && .DISCUSSION... * A high pressure ridge returns to the area today into Saturday. Maximum temperatures will trend up around 3-6 degrees each day through Saturday, and normal temperatures are likely by Friday through the upcoming weekend. Minimum temperatures will remain mostly in the teens and low 20s for the eastern Sierra communities and mid 30s to low 40s for western NV valleys. Winds will be light through Saturday as well, setting up a very nice fall weekend. * Our next potential system to impact the area arrives by Sunday. Although the individual ensembles all point to some kind of trough moving through the northern Great Basin on Sunday into Monday, there are differences in the track, timing, and strength of this system. Potential impacts from this Sunday/Monday system will be stronger winds, cooler temperatures, and low chances for rain and higher elevation snowfall. -McKellar && .AVIATION... * Areas of IFR in FZFG/low ceilings likely at KTRK through around 18z. Lower chances (20%) for similar conditions at KTVL. There is a chance for FZFG at KTRK tomorrow morning as well. * Otherwise, VFR conditions for remaining eastern Sierra and western NV terminals. Winds are overall light at all terminals. -McKellar && .REV Watches/Warnings/Advisories... NV...None. CA...None. && $$
