.DISCUSSION...

Typical summertime weather in store for the rest of the week with
daytime highs in mid-upper 80s/90s and breezy afternoons. Pockets of
elevated to briefly critical fire weather conditions will accompany
the onset of breezy winds each afternoon as we head into the
weekend. Smoke from the Green Fire in northern CA is projected to
drift into areas near the Oregon border, fostering periods of hazy
skies and air quality impacts for the remainder of the week. While
most areas remain dry through the weekend, there will be daily 15-
25% chances of afternoon showers and thunderstorms across Mono, S
Lyon, and Mineral counties through Saturday.

Winds will likely become a skosh stronger than our normal afternoon
zephyr Sunday through Tuesday as a string of low pressure areas
advance through the Pacific Northwest. Potential impacts include
heightened fire danger and choppy lake waters in the afternoon early
next week. On the bright side, these low pressure passages will
preclude heatwaves through at least the middle of next week!
