.DISCUSSION...

After patchy areas of morning fog across the Martis Valley/Truckee
areas this morning, we`ll see warming and rapid drying this
afternoon as minimum relative humidity plunges 40-50% since yesterday
afternoon for areas mainly south of I-80 where wetting rains
occurred (>0.10").

In addition to today`s drying and 5-10 degrees of warming, breezy
conditions will return this afternoon with lower valleys generally
seeing afternoon southwest gusts of around 20-30 mph while Sierra
ridgetops see gusts of 50+ mph. Expect choppy conditions across
areas lakes along with areas of elevated fire weather concerns
mainly across E.Lassen and far N.Washoe counties this afternoon.

Areas of light showers (10-15% chances) may linger across
portions of southern Mono-Mineral counties through the weekend
with isolated showers also possible across eastern Pershing and
Churchill counties this afternoon.

Winds will decrease by Sunday afternoon but as troughing sets up
across the PacNW, a dry and breezy/gusty wind pattern looks to set
up early next week. While timing and strength of the winds will
still need to be resolved, Tuesday and Wednesday could yield
elevated to critical fire weather conditions as surface gradients
and 700mb flow increase across the Tahoe Basin, NE California, and
NW Nevada early next week. The breezy/gusty pattern persists
Wednesday into next weekend, but we will also begin to see an
uptick in moisture with 15-30% chances for light precipitation

.AVIATION...

Areas of patchy fog will be possible at KTRK due to recent
precipitation and clearing skies this morning. Otherwise expect
VFR conditions across most terminals this afternoon with only a
10% chance of an isolated shower at KMMH.

Otherwise expect breezy southwesterly afternoon winds with
terminals seeing gusts near 20-25 knots today. Areas of moderate
turbulence will be possible this afternoon along and east of the
Sierra as ridgetops winds (FL100) gust near 40-50 knots. Fuentes
