A trough moving into the region today through Saturday will produce
strong, gusty west-southwest winds. Winds peak Friday, with widespread
gusts of 40 to 50 mph. Combined with critically low humidities,
widespread elevated to critical fire weather conditions are
expected each afternoon and evening through Friday. Similar conditions
may continue Saturday for southern Mono and Mineral counties.
