SOUTHERN WASHOE AND NORTH CENTRAL LYON COUNTIES THROUGH 900 PM PDT... At 811 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Virginia Peak to 7 miles north of Stagecoach. Movement was east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Fernley, Wadsworth, and Fernley - Tiger Field Airport. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Short periods of heavy rainfall are also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding along I-80 east of Derby Dam to Fernley. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
