.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1248 AM MST Tue Nov 3 2026

Precipitation has ended across the area, with winds finally
subsiding over northern Johnson County. Skies remain overcast over
much of the CWA early this morning, with clear skies over
southwestern portions of the state. Low clouds/fog will be possible
at times through the rest of the morning, with many locations having
cloud heights drop below 1000ft at times already. There is not a
strong signal for fog with low visibilities at any particular area,
but will continue to keep an eye on any developing trends.
Skies will quickly scatter out by 18Z, with mostly clear skies
across areas east of the Divide.

There are not many changes with the forecast from the previous
discussion. Conditions are expected to remain dry through the rest
of the week, as an area of high pressure settles over MT today.
Temperatures will stay at or slightly below normal through the week
with winds staying light. The high center will also keep a weak
Pacific system to the south over UT/CO Wednesday, with the main
impact being mainly in the form of cloudy skies over
southern/southwestern portions. Isolated showers will be possible
over the western half of Sweetwater County and southern Lincoln
County from the northern end of this low pressure system.

The pattern then briefly becomes more active by Thursday as a trough
moves over the Northern Rockies and pushes the high center over the
Northern Plains. The chance for high winds in northern Johnson
County no longer looks likely as models have now trended toward a
ridge building over the Great Basin and Northern Rockies, keeping
the PFJ further north away from the region. Temperatures will trend
above normal Sunday and Monday as the aforementioned ridge shifts
more over the Northern Rockies and Alberta/Saskatchewan.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 1051 AM MST Tue Nov 3 2026

The low clouds across western terminals are expected to decrease
over the next few hours. Otherwise, VFR conditions are expected
today with mostly clear skies this afternoon. High clouds will
increase this evening as they move in from the west, spreading east
through Wednesday morning. These clouds and drier air at the surface
are expected to keep fog impacts minimal for Wednesday morning.

Please see the Aviation Weather Center and/or CWSU ZDV and ZLC for
the latest information on smoke, icing, and turbulence forecasts.
