.DISCUSSION...
Monsoonal moisture will increase across the area today and bring
a chance of showers or thunderstorms. A shower is possible as early as
0800 to 0900, but the best chance should be between 1300 and 1800, when
the chance will be between 30 to 40 percent at the fire site. Any storm
could have heavy rain with the chance of a wetting rain around 20 percent,
with best chance of this once again between 1300 and 1800. Wind should
remain light and largely terrain driven except in and around any shower
or thunderstorm where wind gusts over 35 mph will be possible. With
increasing cloud cover, mixing and smoke dispersal will should be poor
most of the morning before becoming fair in after 1200 with around a 30
percent chance of good smoke dispersal after 1300. The chance of showers
and thunderstorms then decreases through the rest of the week, with
temperatures rising and humidity falling. The weekend looks to be hot
and dry with a gusty wind possible on Sunday afternoon.
