.DISCUSSION...
An active pattern returns to the region later today as heat and
humidity continue to increase across the area. Highs today will top
out in the upper 80s to low 90s across the lowlands, with heat
indices in the mid 90s to 100. Some storms late this afternoon and
evening could be strong to severe across southeast Ohio and northern
West Virginia in advance of a cold front, with the primary hazard
being damaging winds. In addition, locally heavy rain is possible
overnight into Thursday within thunderstorms, which could result in
localized flash flooding. Daily chances for showers and storms will
then continue through the weekend as the frontal boundary meanders
north and south of the area, bringing with it at least some strong
storm and heavy rainfall potential at times.
