.DISCUSSION...
An extended heat wave builds throughout the week courtesy of high
pressure. High temperatures will rise into the low to mid 90s across
much of the lower elevations today, with the potential for isolated
afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Afternoon `feels like`
temperatures will reach into the upper 90s to low 100s in some
places, resulting in the potential for moderate to major heat-
related impacts. The heat continues and builds by late in the work
week, with high temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 90s for
the lowlands on Thursday through the weekend. A cold front
approaches by late Sunday or Monday, with showers and thunderstorms,
and slightly cooler temperatures for the start of the next work week.
