...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL PUTNAM AND
NORTHWESTERN KANAWHA COUNTIES THROUGH 415 PM EDT...

At 347 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Nitro, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Charleston, Nitro, Jefferson, South Charleston, St. Albans, Dunbar,
Sissonville, Poca, Cross Lanes, Institute, Tornado, and Teays Valley.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 79 between mile markers 1 and 7.
 Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 100 and 117.
 Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 40 and 57.
 Route 119 near mile marker 80.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
