...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central North Carolina, including the
  following county, Stokes and southwest Virginia, including the
  following county, Patrick.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 258 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Dan River, Hookers Creek, Little Dan River, Big Creek, Elk
    Creek, Ararat River, Archies Creek and Fall Creek.
    Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
