...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM SATURDAY TO 1 PM
EST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet
  accumulations between 3 and 8 inches and ice accumulations between
  one quarter and one half of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 40
  mph. The higher snow and sleet totals will be north of the
  Virginia and North Carolina border. More ice will be in North
  Carolina.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest North Carolina and southwest
  Virginia.

* WHEN...From 1 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Winds and weight of snow or ice on tree limbs may down
  power lines and could cause power outages. Travel will be very
  difficult to impossible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

You should consider delaying all travel this weekend.

If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution.
Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such
items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets
and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything
else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

  accumulations between 8 and 15 inches and ice accumulations
  between one tenth and four tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as
  high as 40 mph. The higher snow amounts will be across the
  Alleghany Highlands into the Shenandoah Valley, with more sleet
  closer to U.S. 460 as well as freezing rain Sunday.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia and southeast West Virginia.

* WHEN...From 1 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Wet snow
  and ice could bring down tree limbs resulting in power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
