329 AGUS76 KRSA 281325 HMDRSA Hydrometeorological Discussion National Weather Service / California-Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA 625 AM PDT Mon Sep 28 2026 ...SCATTERED PRECIP TODAY AND EARLY TUE MAINLY FAR EASTERN AREAS... ...DRY AND WARMER CONDITIONS RETURN WED INTO THE UPCOMING WEEKEND... .METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (MON AM - SUN AM)... An area of low pressure currently in the vicinity of Sacramento is continuing its trek slowly to the southeast this morning. One area of showers associated with this feature is primarily in the northeast quadrant where diffluent flow aloft is resulting in scattered showers and t-storms moving from south-to-north over northwest NV. The other is a relatively solid line of showers that have shifted from the San Diego area eastward across Imperial County...where PW values are running quite high this morning with the 28/12Z KNKX RAOB recording 1.79-inches of PW in a fairly moist column from approx 850-mb to just above 500-mb. As the primary circulation continues to move toward the southeast today...look for the best precip to develop over far southeast NV and far eastern CA with amounts in the wettest locations approaching 1.00-inch through early Tuesday. Also...will continue to see scattered light precip over the southern Sierra up into central NV. Through tomorrow...the upr low will exit across the lower Colorado River basin and shift off toward the east. In the wake of this system...high pressure will begin to build from the eastern Pacific eastward and become the dominating feature into the upcoming weekend. This will bring above normal temperatures with anomalies for afternoon highs peaking anywhere from plus 5- to localized pockets of plus 20-degF along coastal areas. Also...dry conditions will persist from Wednesday through at least Sunday...if not beyond as models are not showing any hints of widespread precip through the middle of October.
