...SCATTERED SHOWERS/T-STORMS MAINLY HIGHER TERRAIN CENTRAL/SOUTH
MON-WED...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (MON AM - SUN AM)...

With a broad area of high pressure centered near or just south of
the 4-Corners region...the general flow around this feature has
advected enough lower latitude moisture across the southern half of
the region with PW values over 1.00-inch at several 24/12Z RAOBs.
The highest value recorded was 1.69-inches at KNKX...and just behind
was KVBG with 1.56-inches. For southern NV...KVEF showed a PW value
of 1.08-inches. This has allowed for scattered showers and t-storms
to develop...mainly in the afternoon and early evening hours.
However...even early this morning...there is a cluster of cells
moving to the north-northeast toward Point Conception according to
the latest radar imagery. The opportunity for this scattered precip
focused on the higher terrain will be today through
Wednesday...before the high pressure ridge flattens a bit and an upr
trof over the northeast Pacific nudges closer to the coast and turns
the overall flow drier and from the southwest.

Temperatures will be warmest today before cooling slightly but still
remaining above normal by the middle and end of the week.
