...SCATTERED LIGHT PRECIP WED-THU AREAS NEAR THE CA/OR BORDER...
...COOL TEMPERATURES MIDWEEK BEFORE REBOUNDING THIS WEEKEND...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (TUE AM - MON AM)...

General troffing exists along the west coast this morning with a
strong area of high pressure residing over the eastern Pacific as
well as downstream across the southeast US. A disturbance is making
its way southward through the overall flow pattern...currently
located near Vancouver Island. This feature will continue to drop
southward today and settle over northern CA tomorrow bringing an
increasing chance of light precip to the upper Klamath River basin
and portions of the higher terrain of far northern CA. Not a lot of
moisture associated with this disturbance given its origin to the
north with PW values generally around or just over 0.50-inch. Look
for precip amounts to range from a few hundredths of an inch to
maybe 0.25-inch.

This s/wv trof will spin in place through Wednesday and early
Thursday before finally beginning to make its way to the northeast
reaching the northern Rockies for the weekend. In this system/s
wake...look for a very transitory upr ridge to slide across the area
on Saturday and exit east on Sunday. By early next week...a weak
area of low pressure will make its way eastward along 35N toward the
central CA coast. At this time...this feature looks to be dry until
shifting inland and possibly generating some scattered precip beyond
the forecast period on Monday from the central/southern Sierra
eastward over the southern two-thirds of NV.

Temperatures will cool for the middle portion of the week as the
area of low pressure settles over northern CA...bringing below
normal conditions both Wednesday and Thursday anywhere from minus 5-
to minus 15-degF under seasonal normals. By the weekend...look for
temperatures to rebound closer to normal.
