Hydrometeorological Discussion
National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA
1230 PM PST Thu Nov 20 2025

...SHOWERS AND OCCASIONAL T-STORMS TODAY AS A FRONT SWEEPS THROUGH
CA FOLLOWED BY AN UPPER LOW ALONG THE COAST...
...LINGERING SHOWERS OVER SRN CA TOMORROW AS THE SYSTEM EXITS
FOLLOWED BY MOSTLY DRY CONDITIONS THE REST OF THE PERIOD...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (THU PM - WED AM)...

Radar shows showers over srn CA, isolated showers over the north
coast, and part of the Sierra as a front continues to move through.
The upper low is making its way down the coast towards CA. The
system is forecast to travel along the CA coast the rest of today
and most of tomorrow passing Point Conception in the morning. Models
then take the low inland through Baja later Saturday into Sunday.
Not much has changed from the morning forecast, amounts have gone up
0.10-0.50" for the duration of this system along the coast from Big
Sur through Ventura County and down around the San Diego area a
similar amount. Afternoon forecast was a blend of WPC guidance and
the latest NBM. QPF through 00z Sun: 0.75-2.50" Transverse, 0.50-
1.25" coastal soCal, 0.10-0.50" down the valleys, and 0.10" or less
for Bay Area.

Models continue to show a couple troughs moving through the PacNW
one late this weekend and the other mid-week, though the north/south
positioning of this trough has not been consistent between runs.
Either way looks like the troughs would only result in some light
showers along the northern regional border.
