Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...Low pressure, 29.30 inches, will hold over eastern Upper Michigan and the straits region today. Cold air and a strong compact wind field associated with this low will support gales and expanding snow shower activity across the region. The low will exit to the northeast of Georgian Bay tonight into Thursday. Strong winds and cold air circulating around the system will sustain gales and snow showers through Thursday. High pressure, 30.40 inches, will expand across the western and southern Great Lakes region Friday and Friday night. Lingering surface troughing over Lake Huron will however sustain some degree of gusty winds and snow showers. Deepening low pressure is forecast to lift across the region from the southwest Saturday night and Sunday, bringing widespread snow with a chance for gusty winds in the wake of the system Sunday night.
